I started losing my hearing after serving in WW II from shell blasts, and it has gradually gotten worse. I went to a grandson's wedding and couldn't hear anything that was said.

After the Veterans Administration said I had 70% hearing loss I went to EarCare and I was fitted with hearing aids. They do help, but I waited too long.

I came to EarCare because I was having problems hearing and understanding high pitch voices. Having hearing aids makes one on one conversation easier to understand. I hadn't heard birds singing for years, and now I can!

Since I have "STOPPED-THE-HUH" my life has improved by hearing my grandkids talking.

I can also hear more things and converse with people without having them have to repeat it 4-5 times. I can actually carry on a conversation by not having broken sentences or lost thoughts. I’m Virginia Strunk from REFLECTION RIDGE. I’m very hard of hearing and noticed that EarCare was coming over to test and clean our ears, so I told some ladies I was going to go. I did, and they cleaned my ears and gave me a test.

A week later I went to get fit with the hearing aids they made for me. Gee, I couldn’t believe how I could hear! The tears started to flow. I was just beside myself. It was wonderful.

For the first week I wore them 2 hours a day. It was hard to leave them out. I couldn’t wait to hear them high notes! Well, I can hear our ministers better from the choir loft and feel more comfortable taking in a restaurant and following a conversation.

I can now hear without having to look at people and can have a conversation with more people at a time.

I found out that I was missing out on so many moments in life. This first became apparent when my daughter and I were eating at Pizza Hut and I was not getting the conversation. Very frustrating!

I was sitting on the front porch the other night with my wife and the locusts were really tuned up. I decided to take my hearing aids off to see if I really needed them and they quieted down real quick!

Staff at EarCare’s Central office wanted me to be able to hear since I hadn’t used my hearing aids in years.

I thought they were going to try to pressure me to buy a new hearing aid. But, when I came in, they rebuilt my hearing aids…free of charge. They made them so that they would be closer to my ear canal and not have the sound bouncing around since they were closer to my ear drum. I can hear a lot better than I did before.
